NARRATIVE CONVENTIONS IN MYTH: THE CAVE OF THE MAGIC RING
Wendy Doniger is a Professor of the History of Religions at the University of Chicago and one of the most important interpreters of myth. In this Fourth Annual Ninian Smart Memorial Lecture at UC Santa Barbara she explores the narrative convention in myth.Note: For students of film, this is a wonderful lecture about the limiting and liberating dimension of the conventions of narrative and it's relation to myth, stories that speak directly to and about eternal human realities. - José Angel Santana, Ph.D.

A non-linear narrativeVideo Project, by Bryan A Haddon (Soundtrack by Easy Star All-Stars, presented courtesy of Easy Star Records. Used with permission.)
from MIT OpenCourseWare Project:
"The contemporary understanding of communication and narrative is quickly shifting in a world where media is ubiquitous. This course explores the properties of non-linear, multi-linear, and interactive forms of narratives as they have evolved from print to digital media. The "language of new media" is the thematic used in this course to discuss contemporary and historic forms of non-linear narrative. Writers on communication culture, gaming, television, digital aesthetics, contemporary art and film, as well as synchronic narrative will be addressed."
